PBE Champion Preview: Tresh the Chain Warden

Tresh the Chain Warden!


Tresh is in the midst of live balance passes and therefore any of the information below are subjected to change.

Tresh is a supportive champion that can be also be played in Jungle or Top lane. The main characteristic of Tresh is that if he uses his tools properly he can lock down a single champion for a long time. He has quite clear disadvantages of low mobility, reliance on skill shots and on the ability of his allies to capitalize the momentums he can create. 

Keeper of Souls (Innate): Thresh does not gain armor or magic resistance per level. Instead, he collects the souls of enemies that die near him. Souls permanently grant armor, magic resistance and ability power.

The souls can be dropped by minions while they are guaranteed to drop from Champions.  Tresh has to pick the souls by walking near them. The first soul will grant 1 bonus ability power, armor and magic resist. Subsequent souls will grant 0.01 less, down to a minimum of 0.5 per stack. This will stack indefinitely.




Q - Shackle: 

(Passive)  Thresh's basic attacks deal bonus magic damage on each hit. The damage value is equal to the total number of souls collected plus a percentage of his attack damage, based on the amount of time since his last attack.
(Active): Thresh throws out his scythe, dealing (80|110|140|170|200(+0.5AP) magic damage to the first unit hit and pulling them toward him for 1.5 seconds. 

Thresh can reactivate this ability to pull himself towards the bound enemy.

W- Lantern Toss

(Active): Thresh throws his lantern towards the target location. If an ally clicks it, they pick up the lantern and Thresh pulls them both back to him.

Additionally, allies who come near the lantern gain a shield that absorbs (60|100|140|180|220(+0.4 per ability power)incoming damage for up to 6 seconds. Allies can only receive the shield once per cast.

Additionally this ability can be use to pull friends over trees/ledges/walls and to pick up souls that are away from Tresh.


As CertainlyT commented, Lantern Toss is the signature ability of Tresh and it can be a LOT of fun! 

E - Sweeping Scythe

(Active):Thresh deals (65|10|135|170|205(+0.4 per ability power) magic damage in a line beginning behind him. Enemies hit are pushed in the direction of the swing and then slowed (20|25|30|35|40%) for 1.5 seconds.

Cast forward to push; cast backward to pull.

R - The Box

(Active): Thresh creates a prison of spectral walls around himself. Enemy champions who walk through a wall take (250|400|450(+1.0 per ability power) magic damage and are slowed for 2 seconds, but break that wall.

The slow amount in the tool tip is 99% which can not be accurate.

Activating The Box creates the 5 wall around Thresh's current position, forming a closed pentagon.
